• The change from fee for service to central funding resulted from a review of TEDI in 2006. Though educational research (ER) provides an essential service, the cost structure meant that proprieties were driven by areas with funds. ER became centrally funded so that its activities could be more closely aligned to University priorities. This is currently a trend in Australia, which is moving away from user pay models for educational resource development.
